Welcome to the Netlabel Index. A site where you can browse through hundreds of free albums. All the music on this site is distributed under the creative commons copyright (or other "free to share" license). What that means is that the music you find on here is free to download and you are actually encouraged to share the music with your family and friends!

So what makes this different from other "free music" sites? Well because the music is published by netlabels it means that there is a level of quality control on the music. It means that not just any Tom-Dick-or-Harry can put their music on here (No offence meant to Tom, Dick and Harry ... ). The music on here tends to be of higher quality than the run-of-the-mill free mp3 music.

The vast majority of the music is electronic (dance, Hip-hip, Techno and electronica) but is not exclusively electronic. Some of the stuff is WAY OUT and some is nothing more than drones and noises. But you are guaranteed to find great music in between the thousands of songs in this database. Our front page listing is updated daily so that you can easily loce the newest music out there.

So once you find an album you are interested in there will be a link that will look like this "Go to release @ NETLABEL to Download". If you click on that link it will take you straight to the download location on the record company's website. Once you get the download, come back and find more albums!

This site is still under constant development and there are a lot of major changes in the pipeline. Come back regularly to see what has changed.

There is a new Netlabel that has been launched in the last few days. BFW Recordings seems to have 3 releases at launch and all three are top quality.

We have added in a few new albums today... The database is growing little by little every day. Just remember that we are also "back catalogueing" a lot of albums which wont show on the front page listing (Or in the RSS feed).

We have added in more RSS feeds to the site. For those who want to subscribe to a specific genre feed you can now access these feeds in the "browse genre" section. Keep in mind that these feeds will only update when releases are made available in that genre.

I have also re-organised the website's menu system. The default menu will now be showing the index browse options.

Updates are still slow at the moment ... hope to have a mass update soon. So keep the submissions coming.

We are still in te process of capturing a lot of older releases. Unfortunately we need to balance new developments with capturing data.
We currently have a number of new netlabels that have signed up over the last few days.

Remember to check the contact us page if you want to submit more music to us!

We had issues with a few people who cannot access the site and after a LOT of head scratching we finally managed to figure out we had a faulty router! ... So things should be up and running!

Thanks for all the interest from everyone out there. We have been swamped with requests to have data entered into the netlabel index.
